The Big Changes
The Admin staff will be taking a slightly different tack from Ironheld's method of running the server.
We're looking to increase the need for and benefits of combat. As such, we'll be lowering the respawn rate of asteroid fields and the faction point cost for owning systems, but greatly increasing the bonus for mining within owned systems. We believe this will help increase attacking and capturing enemy territories, and make defending your own real estate a priority.
We've lowered the jump drive distance to 50km. Doing this will allow defenders a little additional time to gather and defend against attackers. We've also lowered the charge time a bit to compensate.
We're planning on implementing a command system, allowing a number of neat features. It's down the road a ways, but in progress. Here's the list:
- Banking - Secure storage for your dosh! Also allows you to transfer stored credits to another player.
- Bounties - Some schmuck sneak in and steal your battleship while you were offline? Is he rubbing your face in it? Want everyone and their mother going after the guy? Put a bounty on his head!
- Personal Message system - Can't be bothered to open that private conversation every other minute? Now you can message someone from the comfort of your regular chat window!
- Panic Button - Stranded in space with an inventory full of shit you don't want to lose by respawning? You can collect a free ship core, power recharger, and thruster to give you a chance at getting to safety.
There are several hard and soft limits on ship size. There will be a soft cap of 300k mass for ships. Beyond that, please speak to an admin to have the vessel tested. If approved, the vessel may be built up to a 1 million mass hard cap. Uploads are capped at 500k, to discourage people just uploading huge ships and puttering around in them.
We're also increasing the damage of warheads.

The Trade Guild will now be relevant! Pezz and Gobbo will be creating various types of ships which may be purchased through the trade guild for credits or event reward items.
Players may join and work for the trade guild in limited capacity. Jobs may consist of mining, hauling shipments, or other miscellaneous tasks in return for payment. If you're interested, please speak to Pezz directly for further details.
Players and factions may request deliveries of large shipments from the Trade Guild. These shipments will arrive in a convoy at time agreed upon by the parties involved. Prices for bulk shipments are the base shop price of the requested, plus a 5% shipping fee. This is not available to factions at war with the trade guild.
Additionally, factions may request a small Trade Guild shop be anchored in a particular area. These will cost 50 million credits, and may not be stocked quite as regularly as the larger trade hubs, but will be fully stocked upon arrival. Restock requests should be submitted to the Trade Guild. The requesting faction will be responsible for defending these shops. This is not available to factions at war with the trade guild.
Attacks on the Trade Guild will result in the attacking faction being unable to use shops until the state of war is lifted. This state of war will exist until a set amount of damage (players killed, ships destroyed) has been done to the attacking faction (either through bounties, or through reprisals via the Trade Guild Accounts Receivable Fleet) or a payment for damages has been made, at which point a truce will be offered.

I am guessing you will be using linux code or a script similar to the scripts on nasszone, genxnova to implement the commands you mention?

Yes, once we trim them down to only what we need.

As you know, I am still working on the wrapper. The problem with other wrappers I have found is that they parse through EVERYTHING and the game really spams the hell out of the console, so this creates server lag. I am using a much less intensive method to build my wrapper, so we will be able to have commands like banking, bounties, etc. It will have certain inherent limitations due to the methods I am using, but we'll still be able to have a lot of pretty cool/useful commands soon.
